WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, authoritative Word of God and inerrant in the original writings. We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that sinful mankind's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We believe in and obey the divine command of water baptism, which signifies the believer's death, burial, and resurrection into new life with Christ Jesus. We celebrate and remember our Savior's death in weekly communion on the first day of every week as commanded by our Lord.

We believe upon baptism, Christians are gifted with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which enables followers to live a Godly life. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved; those that are saved into the resurrection of life and those that are unsaved into the resurrection of damnation. We believe God desires all people in all the world to live in spiritual unity in one body (The Church).

Salvation is available to all

Hear the Word

Hearing what the Bible says through preaching, teaching, and personal study is the only way to produce a saving faith.

Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Believe / Faith

One must believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God (John 3:16). This results from hearing the Word of God (see above), and is stated as essential to salvation.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Repentance

Repentance is a change of mind which causes one to turn away from sinful practices. It is commanded for everyone.

Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 17:30 Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent.

Confession

This is an outward confession of faith in Jesus as the Son of God.

Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Baptism

Mark 16:16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.

Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Remain Faithful

Following the obedience of these commands we believe it is important that the Christian live faithfully

Revelations 2:10 Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
